Tussar Silk Cushion
Tussar Silk is produced by the larvae of several species of silk worms. The worms mostly live in the wild where they feed off the trees. The cocoon they create is single-shelled and oval these cocoons are boiled once the larvae has left them. Boiling is important as it softens the cocoon making the extraction of silk easier. After they have been boiled (or treated with a softening enzyme) the yarn is reeled and then it can be woven into fabric.
